I was told that in order reach your goals, you must be very desperate about it.
You can’t be just kinda want it, it has to be ALL or NOTHING!
It was around 2015, I made Art as a Full time Job, I finally learned how to do portraits and comfortably earning a similar amount as having a day job (without the security and benefits of course)I was drifting and clinching to every next project. I have learned to market, wrote proposals and be just thick skinned, I made 10 pieces just to sell 1 or 2, and sent about 50 to 100 emails just to be get into 1 or 2 events, and it was super fun, In so many ways it was Success and I did it.
But then I learned quickly, Success isn’t a destination – It’s a journey.
I grew tired living on a Backpack, I wanted to have some sort of permanency I wanted to collect stuff, have a place to store themI wanted to have a base; I want to do Art not just for survival anymore.
I went back home, worked with a great Company this time Get to do my first love, Doodles and Abstract again.
They don’t sell as much, but I make merch out if them, so kinda the same
At the same time, I’m also Teaching and pursuing a career in the academe, which I battle everyday Coz I know how schools can be just so stifling sometimes, which I hope to change that.
So, I’m pretty much working all time.
But I’m very, very happy.
I have a cat and surrounded by strong circle of community where I am at now
On weekends, I’m jumping into any small adventure there is, just to keep things fresh
I miss a lot of great friends, I hope someday I can visit them again. As soon as this world goes back to Normal
Whatever that means now.
Good Morning, Coffee anyone?
